Useful information for UK travellers
At Cox & Kings, we aim to ensure every journey you take is seamless, safe, and rewarding. The following guidance will help you prepare for your trip and allow you to focus on the joy of travel.
Choosing your travel Insurance
We cannot emphasise enough the importance of arranging comprehensive travel insurance at the time of booking your trip or, at the latest prior to travel. We recommend getting travel insurance that matches the value of your booking and keeps you covered for any unexpected situations — like trip cancellations or changes, medical expenses (including evacuation or repatriation), lost baggage, personal liability, travel documents, and even serious emergencies. Choosing the right coverage for your plans will give you peace of mind from the moment you book until the end of your trip.
Passports and Travel Advice
All travellers must hold a full and valid passport for their destination. Most countries require that passports remain valid for at least six months beyond your planned return date.
We strongly recommend consulting the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Travel Advice before booking and reviewing it periodically prior to departure. This guidance provides essential information on entry requirements, safety, and health precautions.Advice can change so always check regularly for the latest updates. Please also ensure you make yourself familiar with the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office advice on staying safe and healthy on your trip.
Visas
Obtaining any necessary visas for entry or transit is the responsibility of each traveller. Visa requirements vary by nationality, and if your group includes individuals of different citizenships, please ensure you check the requirements for each person.
Cox & Kings partners with Visa Central (CIBT), specialists in visa applications, to help make the process straightforward. They offer online tracking and guidance to ensure all documentation is completed efficiently. To learn more or begin your application, visit the Visa Central website.
Travel Health
We recommend consulting your healthcare professional at least four to six weeks before your trip to determine any required vaccinations or preventative measures.
Country-specific advice is available from the National Travel Health Network and Centre on the TravelHealthPro website and from NHS Scotland on the Fit for Travel website. Staying informed ensures you are prepared for each destination.
ATOL Protection
Some flights and flight-inclusive holidays booked through Cox & Kings are financially protected under the ATOL scheme. ATOL protection does not cover all holiday services. Information regarding protection for each holiday is provided before booking.
If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate, your booking is not ATOL protected. If you receive a certificate but some elements of your trip are not listed, those elements are not covered. Please see our booking conditions or visit the CAA website for full information on ATOL protection.
